Post Waxing Care 101

Hooray, it’s over! Now your freshly waxed skin awaits a proper ritual to ensure all is well until your next appointment! At Rei Skincare we have asked around for some advice from our esthetician experts on best steps to take care of your skin post wax. Here is what they are.

Post Wax Guidance

The first thing you can do is wear loose fitting clothing. I am talking to the appointment and post appointment. Change into breathable underwear as soon as you’re home and don’t plan on exercising, sweating, or any activities that could cause friction to the skin. Make sure you are staying hydrated, drink water before and after. To soothe and protect the skin around your bikini line and legs apply a chemical free ingrown hair treatment oil to the waxed area daily, especially within the first 72 hours following the appointment. We recommend Rei-Nude, our ingrown hair serum made with the mushroom of immortality; reishi mushrooms. Packed with Beta-glucans which are natural sugars that help reduce and calm dry, itchy skin. Beta-glucans that attract water to the top layers of skin and challenge the current hydrating champ, hyaluronic acid

Ensure you are exfoliating your pubic area to prevent itching when pubic hair is growing back. Feel free to exfoliate before or after you wax, you can also do both. Exfoliate with Rei-Freshed an all-natural, cruelty free, vegan exfoliator two or three time a week to help avoid any ingrown hair hairs and bumps that can start when hair grows back. If you want to take your exfoliation game up to the next level, try using our Rei-Vive Dry Brush before the shower. Dry brushing is great skin detox used to exfoliate the skin, do this twice a week. Finally, schedule regular appointments to ensure consistency like anything in life consistency is key. Four weeks is a rough estimate of time but not fret if your cycle is longer or shorter. Don’t shave in-between appointments, it’s tempting but don’t!
